Our Story

Karl Keefer’s journey in the laundry industry began over two decades ago. After serving in the Army Reserve, Karl was recruited by a fellow soldier to work for Bock—a leading manufacturer of industrial centrifuges known as extractors. These extractors were designed to remove excess water from clothing before they were placed in the dryer, and the technology had a major impact on the efficiency and profitability of coin laundromats.

Karl later expanded his expertise by working with top brands like Speed Queen and Dexter Laundry, eventually moving into sales and consulting. His journey came full circle when he opened his own laundromats, gaining hands-on experience that continues to inform his work to this day.

Karl founded what is now Laundry Services Company in 2000. Initially, the company focused on route operations, where Karl purchased equipment and leased space in apartment complexes and condo buildings, sharing a percentage of the gross revenues. As the business grew, Karl expanded his own laundromat ownership and began offering valuable market analysis and service support to other operators in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin.
